Who We Are

Our mission is to facilitate a unique yearlong bilateral public diplomacy initiative sponsored by the German Bundestag and U.S. Congress that invites 75 German and American Young Professionals to spend a year in each other’s countries studying and interning in their future career fields. We are also inaugurating a new virtual and in-person study tour program for professionals and recruiting university partners for this initiative.

Our team works on recruiting and selecting American participants, facilitating the German exchange year in the USA by recruiting host colleges and host companies for internships, and seeking out new universities and colleges to partner with us in this and other projects.

  • Your job will be to lead virtual, social media, and in-person outreach to new and existing stakeholders to increase awareness of CBYX, study tours and other partnerships, and to help other team members facilitate the German and American sides of the exchange year so they can best serve the participants we host. You will also play a key role in developing and facilitating virtual and in person study tours for professionals.
  • At any given time, you will be responsible for creating and presenting information on CBYX and study tours to selected stakeholders, professional organizations, and university officers, as well as identifying new stakeholders for both CBYX and other university partnerships and assisting in time-sensitive, seasonally-adjusted duties to support other team members serving German and American CBYX participants.
  • You will report to the Senior Director of CBYX and University Partnerships.

  • To be successful in this job, you will excel in customer service, organizational skills, recruitment and advocacy activities to increase international exchange, as well as event facilitation and program assessment. You will also have experience with study abroad, social media, and university/college governance, all anchored in a passion for increasing intercultural understanding.
  • Frequent travel to the home office in Washington, DC will be required, so only candidates located in the DMV region or those willing to relocate will be considered.
